Description
Lovely 1878 Three Dollar, MS62
1878 $3 MS62 PCGS. Being the most available date in the series, the 1878 is often the date selected by collectors working on type sets. Nonetheless, not all MS62 three dollars have the same level of eye appeal. This piece is choice for the assigned grade, having lemon-yellow coloration, an above average strike, and scintillating luster. Three dollar gold pieces are treasured by numismatists since all but one year in the 36-year series, 1854, saw mintages of fewer than 100,000 coins.(Registry values: N2998)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 25MZ, PCGS# 8000, GSID# 8649)
