Description

Radiant 1878 three Dollar, MS64

1878 $3 MS64 PCGS. Jeff Garrett and Ron Guth (2006) write that the 1878 three dollar is the most common date of the series. The several thousand pieces certified by PCGS and NGC tends to corroborate the authors' contention. Radiant luster exudes from apricot-gold surfaces of this near-Gem example, and a well directed strike brings about sharp definition on the motifs, save for the usually-seen soft lower wreath. Some minor handling marks define the grade.(Registry values: N2998)
