    Description

    Lovely Gem 1878 Three Dollar

1878 $3 MS 66 PCGS. The 1878 is the most common three dollar gold price in all grades. If one were to consider the number of Gem quality gold collectors in today's market, however, it would be obvious that the present example is rare from an availability standpoint. All but unsurpassable in the area of eye appeal, the surfaces are aglow with deep, rich orange-gold color and shimmering mint brilliance. We can find no fault with the bold striking definition and neither side displays even the most trivial surface disruption. NGC and PCGS together report only six examples above the present level (5/00). (NGC ID# 25MZ, PCGS# 8000)

    Weight: 5.02 grams

    Metal: 90% Gold, 10% Copper
