Description
1879 Three Dollar Gold, MS64
Low-Mintage Date, Vibrant Luster
1879 $3 MS64 PCGS. Struck during the year following the
high-mintage 1878 three dollar issue, three dollar gold production
plummeted to only 3,000 circulation strikes in 1879. This frosty,
sun-yellow gold piece displays swirling and semireflective luster
around boldly impressed devices. This near-Gem example is alive
with frosty radiance and is minimally abraded. The coin is housed
in a Generation 3.0 PCGS old green label holder.Ex: FUN Signature (Heritage, 1/2011), lot 6837.
