1882 Three Dollar, Repunched Date, MS62
    FS-301 Cherrypickers' Variety, Sole Finest

1882 $3 Repunched Date, FS-301, MS62 PCGS. The lower crossbar of the original 2 appears amidships of the subsequent punch, with the rest of the first digit protruding out the top. This is an original example of this low-mintage issue of only 1,500 circulation strikes, showing thick, rich, frosty luster on peach-gold surfaces that deepen to lavish orange-red in the protected peripheral device interiors. Light contact marks are largely confined to the fields, save for one thin mark on Liberty's cheek. This is currently the sole finest example certified of this variety at PCGS (2/16).
