    Description

    1882 Three Dollar Gold, MS63
    Prooflike Contrast on Each Side

1882 $3 Repunched Date, FS-301, MS63 NGC. The 1882 was heavily saved at the time of issue, but its scant mintage of 1,500 coins ensures a large collector market today. This Select example displays a sharp strike and deeply mirrored fields that cast each side in stark cameo contrast. Faint handling marks in the fields are all that limit the grade. This piece has rich orange-gold color. Housed in a prior generation holder. Census: 19 in 63, 30 finer (7/16).
    From The Twelve Oaks Collection.

    Coin Index Numbers: (Variety PCGS# 145710, Base PCGS# 8004)

Had we endeavored to sell it without your support, it would have taken us at least 10 lifetimes, i.e. it would have been impossible.
