Lovely Prooflike 1883 Three Dollar, AU58
1883 $3 AU58 NGC. Although a small hoard of these coins was found in the late 1930s and another in the 1960s, this extremely low-mintage date remains difficult to find today. Just 900 business strikes and 89 proofs were coined. This is a lovely prooflike example with excellent eye appeal. The surfaces are vivid greenish-gold with attractive lilac toning at the upper obverse.
