Flashy 1884 Three Dollar, MS63
1884 $3 MS63 NGC. CAC. Harry Bass considered the 1884 to be the rarest circulation strike of the decade. Bowers (2005) believes that between 80 and 110 examples survive in all grades from a mintage of only 1,000 pieces. Delightful pumpkin-orange patina graces both sides of this satiny specimen with flashy prooflike fields. Crisply struck and housed in an old NGC holder.
