    1885 Three Dollar Gold, AU50
    Only 801 Pieces Struck

1885 $3 AU50 PCGS. Even in the context of the three dollar gold series, which is known for its many low-mintage issues, the 1885 stands out as one of only three business strike dates with a production total of less than 1,000 coins (only 801 pieces). This original AU representative exhibits deep orange and honey-gold coloration, with substantial semiprooflike mirroring remaining in the fields. A few minor abrasions accompany the grade, but high-point wear is minimal and the eye appeal is excellent.(Registry values: N1793)
