Description

1885 Three Dollar, AU53
Low-Mintage Issue

1885 $3 AU53 PCGS. The 1885 mintage for the three dollar issue was the second lowest of the series at 800 coins (excluding the unique 1870-S), though with a reasonably high survival-rate given the low-mintage figure. Enrapturing Midas-gold luster furnishes this piece, while some bronze-gold patina is developing primarily around the devices and legends. The piece is well-struck with some minor circulation wear along the hair and has some minor abrasions that are not overly intrusive to the appeal.(Registry values: N1793)
