Mint State Low Mintage 1885 Three Dollar
1885 $3 MS61 NGC. The 1885 has a compellingly low business strike mintage of 801 pieces. Fortunately for collectors, a number of those coins were soon secured by Philadelphia-area dealers with insider connections. The 1885 is thus collectible, but significantly rarer than such dates as the 1878 and 1874.
