    Description

    1886 Gold Three Dollar, AU55
    Challenging Late-Series Issue

1886 $3 AU55 NGC. The 1886 is a much better three-dollar issue -- just 1,000 business strikes were made. This Choice About Uncirculated example shows wear on the high points yet much of the original prooflike surface remains. Abrasions are minor with mint luster still visible across the reflective fields and pleasing motifs. Census: 19 in 55, 92 finer (8/16).
From The Twelve Oaks Collection.(Registry values: N1793)

    Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 25N9, PCGS# 8008)

    Weight: 5.02 grams

    Metal: 90% Gold, 10% Copper
