    1886 $3 MS61 NGC. The 1886 three dollar gold piece claims a mintage of just 1,000 pieces, making it an elusive issue in all Mint State grades. The present coin is an attractive MS61 specimen, with pleasing yellow-gold surfaces that show a scattering of minor contact marks on both sides and considerable prooflike reflectivity in sheltered areas. Census: 20 in 61, 20 finer (10/15).(Registry values: N2998)
