Description

1887 Three Dollar Gold, AU58
Lustrous Fields

1887 $3 AU58 PCGS. The Mint struck 6,000 three dollar gold pieces in 1887, all at Philadelphia. Many examples were preserved at the time of issue because of that low mintage, and few pieces entered circulation. This near-Mint coin displays moderate remaining luster in the fields with light wear over the devices. No mentionable abrasions appear on either side, and the natural wheat-gold color is most pleasing.(Registry values: N1793)
