Mint State 1888 Three Dollar Gold
With Excellent Luster

1888 $3 MS61 NGC. The next-to-last three dollar gold issue, produced to the extent of 5,000 pieces. This survivor is nonetheless on the low end of the several hundred that exist today, squirreled away by knowledgeable collectors and dealers of the era. This MS61 example displays medium orange-gold surfaces with excellent luster and a few light ticks and hairlines that preclude a finer grade.(Registry values: N1793)
