Description
Low-Mintage 1888 Three, MS64
1888 $3 MS64 PCGS. Toward the end of the series, the three dollar pieces failed to circulate actively, so high grade pieces can be found, despite seemingly low mintages. The 1888 has a mintage of only 5,000 coins, yet it trades at about type coin levels. Survivors are typically in the MS63 to MS65 grade range, much like this satiny yellow-gold near-Gem. The strike is good and the surfaces pleasing with only a few tiny abrasions.(Registry values: N2998)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 25NB, PCGS# 8010, GSID# 8659)
