1889 Three Dollar, AU55
Final-Year Type Coin
1889 $3 AU55 PCGS. The 1889 was the last three dollar gold
issue in the series. Only 2,300 pieces were struck, but many
survive and the date is collectible today. This Choice AU example
displays light wear but retains moderate luster in the protected
areas. Warm straw-gold patina and some light marks characterize
