Description
1889 Three Dollar, MS63
Colorful Final-Year Type Coin
1889 $3 MS63 NGC. This splendid Select Uncirculated three
dollar example survives from a mintage of 2,300 pieces struck in
the final issue of the series. Boldly struck devices show frosty
luster and produce coruscating cartwheels on lively peach-gold
surfaces. Hues of emerald flash on the device high points and soft
sprays of lavender and amber are displayed throughout the fields.
Abrasions are limited to a few light field marks and a minor nick
on Liberty's truncated neck. This attractive and colorful mid-level
piece is a compelling type coin candidate.(Registry values: N2998)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 25NC, PCGS# 8011, Greysheet# 8660)
