Description

1854 Three Dollar, MS62
Attractive First-Year Type Coin

1854 $3 MS62 PCGS. The 1854 three dollar is a popular first-year issue that is ideal for type collectors, having the highest production of the three mints at 138,618 pieces. The issue survives well in Mint State, although examples finer than MS64 are conditionally scarce. This MS62 piece is well-struck with only slight softness showing on Liberty's curls. Coruscating green-gold surfaces flash lustrous hues of apricot in the protected spaces, and overall eye appeal is outstanding. A few tiny handling marks limit the grade.(Registry values: N2998)
