Description

1873-CC Trade Dollar, AU58
Rare FS-301 Misplaced Date Variety

1873-CC T$1 Misplaced Date, FS-301, AU58 ANACS. The remnants of a 7 appear in the denticles below the date, centered between 8 and 7. Cherrypickers' calls this variety "very prominent," and we agree. This rose-gray Trade dollar is only lightly circulated, showing some diagonal planchet striations in the lower-left quadrant of the obverse. The strike is quite soft on the upper obverse at the topmost stars and the head of Liberty, as well as on the reverse on portions of the top and bottom peripheries.
