Luminous Select 1873-S Trade Dollar
1873-S T$1 MS63 PCGS. CAC. The San Francisco Mint did not have a full year to strike Trade dollars in 1873, though its tally of 703,000 pieces was respectable for the time it had. The issue saw heavy use in the export currents, and Mint State survivors, especially Select and better coins like this one, are elusive. Dappled green-gold and cloud-gray toning embraces the lustrous surfaces, and the boldly defined devices are minimally marked for the grade.(Registry values: N1793)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 252Y, PCGS# 7033, GSID# 7361)
