Description

Above-Average 1873 Trade Dollar, MS63

1873 T$1 MS63 PCGS. The 1873 Trade dollar is the first issue for the series, which was created as part of the "Crime of '73" that legislated a record number of changes into U.S. numismatic history. Although nearly 400,000 business strike 1873s were struck, the vast majority were exported to China, and most survivors have chopmarks.
Pinkish-gray toning combines with satiny luster to give this Select Mint State piece delightful eye appeal. There are relatively few abrasions for the grade, and those present do not affect the prime focal points. The strike is crisp save for the usual softness on several stars and Liberty's head. Population: 27 in 63, 41 finer (7/09).(Registry values: N1793)
