Description

1874-CC Trade Dollar, MS64
Small CC, Attractive Golden Toning

1874-CC T$1 JK-6, HA-15, R.1, MS64 NGC. Small CC. Period after FINE. Bold die cracks across both borders attribute this attractive Carson City type coin. A lustrous near-Gem with original light to medium golden-brown toning. The strike is bold, and marks are inconsequential for the grade. The obverse shows a minor edge knock near 9 o'clock, and the reverse rim has a small recessed area at 9 o'clock. Only one HA-15 is known finer, an MS65 NGC example as lot 4528 in our January 2019 FUN Signature. A late die state with interesting raised die flaws on the mintmark, the branch stem, and the 9 in 900. The obverse displays rim die breaks at 12:30 and 6 o'clock.(Registry values: N4719)
