Description

1874-CC Trade Dollar, MS64
Conditionally Rare Carson City Issue

1874-CC T$1 MS64 PCGS. CAC. Micro CC, period after FINE. The surfaces show satiny luster in the fields and a sharp strike, with full definition on Liberty's profile and on the eagle, including sharp claws and leg feathers. A few nicks on Liberty's cheek and a bag mark above the eagle's head will serve to identify this piece. Toned with golden flecks on the obverse, and a bit of streaky gold on the center of the reverse. The 1874-CC is scarcer than the mintage would imply, as the vast majority of examples was sent to the Orient for trade and few returned unscathed. Population: 21 in 64 (1 in 64+), 2 finer (6/15).
