Description
Frosty Near-Gem 1875-S Trade Dollar
1875-S T$1 MS64 PCGS. Ex: Daniel D. Biddle. Type One Reverse. Large S. This is an amazing example with fully brilliant silver luster on both sides. The borders display light golden patina. As is the case with most San Francisco issues of the type, the 1875-S has a plentiful mintage. But many of those were melted, circulated, or chopmarked, and today pristine and Choice Mint State examples are elusive.Ex: Daniel D. Biddle Collection, Part One (Heritage, 9/2005), lot 3793, which realized $2,990.
