Attractive 1875-S Near-Gem Trade Dollar
1875-S T$1 MS64 PCGS. Type One Obverse and Reverse. Large S. The San Francisco Mint made the lion's share of Trade dollars during their heyday from 1874 through 1878, due to its closer location to the Orient, the ultimate destination for much of the coinage. Dappled golden-brown and gunmetal-gray patina embraces this satiny and suitably struck near-Gem. Thorough inspection of the fields beneath a loupe locate no significant marks. A worthy contribution to an originally toned silver type set.(Registry values: N2998)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 2536, PCGS# 7039, GSID# 7369)
