Description

1876-CC Trade Dollar, MS61
Doubled Die Reverse

1876-CC T$1 Doubled Die Reverse, FS-801 (formerly FS-014), MS61 NGC. Type One Obverse and Reverse, Tall CC. The Cherrypickers' reference states that "this variety is one of the highlights of the trade dollar varieties and is thought to be extremely rare in grades above AU." Dramatic die doubling is most visible on the olive branch, the eagle, and E PLURIBUS UNUM. This Mint State example is sharply struck and satiny with a hint of champagne toning. Scattered light handling marks are all that limit the grade.
