Popular Doubled Die Reverse

1876-CC T$1 Doubled Die Reverse, FS-801, MS63 PCGS. CAC. The Doubled Die Reverse variety, identified as FS-801 in the Cherrypickers' Guide, was struck from a Type One obverse and a Type One reverse. The doubling is most obvious on the branch above the word FINE, where there is wide separation. This popular variety has been listed in the Guide Book for many years, and it is a major rarity in MS63 or finer grades.
