    Description

    1876-CC Trade Dollar, MS61
Type One Obverse, Type Two Reverse

1876-CC T$1 Type Two Reverse MS61 NGC. Tall CC. An interesting coin, the nearly untoned obverse contrasts markedly with the dappled orange-russet and charcoal patina that adorns the reverse. There is some light color at the upper right obverse border, and every feature on both sides exhibits needle sharp striking definition. The scattered, grade-defining abrasions include a shallow scrape in the left reverse field. Still, a desirable coin for the grade with a pleasing semiprooflike finish.
Ex: Andy Geosits Collection of Trade Dollars / Long Beach Signature (Heritage, 9/2002), lot 7251, where it sold for $2,760.
