    1876-S Trade Dollar, Deeply Toned MS64

    1876-S T$1 Type One Obverse, Type One Reverse, MS64 NGC. An unusual but attractive color palette is created by the deep burgundy and grape patina that prevails throughout both sides. A few flecks of darker charcoal-gray punctuate the prevailing colors. The strike is quite sharp on this near-Gem coin, an attractive survivor from this pre-Morgan dollar mintage exceeding 5.2 million coins. For the issue, Census: 92 in 64, 22 finer (4/15).
