Description
Grayish-Tan MS64 1876 Trade Dollar
1876 T$1 MS64 PCGS. Type One Obverse, Type Two Reverse. The 1876 has a relatively low mintage of 455,000 circulation strikes. The surfaces show dusky grayish-tan patination with electric-blue accents concentrated at the borders of this near-Gem. The reverse fields show pronounced reflectivity that is evident even through the toning. Generally well struck except for the usual weakness on the eagle's left (facing) claw. A faint linear graze in the left obverse field denies Gem classification. Near-Gem pieces are generally the finest available of this issue.(Registry values: N2998)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 2539, PCGS# 7041, GSID# 7355)
