Description

Transitional 1876 Trade Dollar, MS64
Type One Obverse, Type Two Reverse

1876 T$1 MS64 PCGS. Type One Obverse, Type Two Reverse. A transitional variety of sorts. All Trade dollars from 1873 through 1875 have the Type One obverse, and all from 1877 to 1883 (or 1885) have the Type Two obverse. Only in 1876 do both obverse types appear. This piece is a delightful Choice Mint State example with sharp design details, satiny silver luster, and light golden toning.
