Description
Well Struck 1877-S Trade Dollar, MS64
1877-S T$1 MS64 PCGS. The 1877-S is the highest-mintage Trade dollar (9.519 million pieces), and is the most common in circulated grades. Even Mint State pieces are available through the Select level, after which they become more difficult to locate. Dappled gold-tan patina is somewhat deeper and more extensive on the obverse of this near-Gem coin. The fields are partially prooflike, yielding mild contrast with the well struck design features. Minute handling marks preclude Gem status. Housed in a green-label holder.(Registry values: N2998)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 253E, PCGS# 7046, GSID# 7383)
