Description

Originally Toned MS64 1877-S Trade Dollar

1877-S T$1 MS64 PCGS. Minute S mintmark, and considered "very rare" by Breen. A large mintage of 9.5 million pieces were produced of the 1877-S, many of which were subsequently shipped to the Orient. This is a richly and originally toned example whose gray-golden surfaces display considerable underlying iridescence when viewed beneath a light. The striking details are strong throughout, and what grade-limiting abrasions are present are well-concealed by the toning.(Registry values: N2998)
