Description

1877-S Trade Dollar, Toned MS65

1877-S T$1 MS65 PCGS. CAC. Large S. Attractive rose-red, powder-blue, jade-green, and tobacco-brown shades visit portions of this lustrous Gem, though light chestnut-tan toning is more prevalent. The strike is uncommonly intricate for a commercial issue Trade dollar, with needle-sharp definition on the eagle's legs and Liberty's hair. Marks are refreshingly few, and those that exist are inconsequential. Minor lapping is limited to the leaves and berries of Liberty's branch. Slight obverse die doubling is seen on wheat grains near the T in LIBERTY and the ribbon border near BER. An outstanding silver type coin. Population: 26 in 65, 7 finer (4/13).(Registry values: N4719)
