Description

1878-CC Trade Dollar, VF35
Rarest Business Issue

1878-CC T$1 VF35 PCGS. CAC. JK-1, HA-5, R.3. Among Trade dollar business issues, the 1878-CC is rarest, and has the lowest mintage. Only 97,000 pieces were produced, and many were likely among the 44,148 pieces melted by the Carson City Mint on July 19, 1878. This is a colorful example featuring deep shades of purple and blue toning. Small marks are scattered, though none distract. Although wear is evident, design elements are nonetheless clear.(Registry values: N991)
