Description
1878-S T$1 MS61 Prooflike NGC. Evidently one of the first pieces struck from a fresh pair of dies, this sharp Mint State representative delivers the overall appearance of a proof when held in hand, and only the presence of the San Francisco mintmark causes one to realize it is a business strike. Splashes of light golden color melt into the deep mirrors on each side. This piece is one of only five examples awarded a Prooflike designation by NGC (8/14).Coin Index Numbers: (PCGS# 77048)
