Description

1875-CC Twenty Cent, AU58 CAC
Rare Die Variety

1875-CC 20C AU58 PCGS. CAC. BF-5, R.6. The usefulness of a twenty cent coin was overestimated by its legislative advocate, Senator Percival Jones. The public did not favor the denomination, and the series was issued for just four years, two of which were proof-only years. The present example displays enamoring slate-gray luster with hues of sky-blue tones primarily centered on the edges. There is some minor strike weakness on the eagle's breast and along Liberty's head. No major abrasions or marks appear on the coin that would diminish the eye appeal.(Registry values: N991)
