Description
Bold Toned Gem 1876 Twenty Cent Piece
1876 20C MS65 PCGS. Only 14,640 business strikes were produced of this Centennial issue, from two pairs of dies. This one appears to be the one Breen describes as "hollows in wings, defect joining wingtip to (T)S, and minor doubling on STAT." This splendid type coin has reddish-gold central color blending with sea-green at the rims on each side. The bold strike and absence of mentionable marks further increase the desirability.(Registry values: N2998)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 23R8, PCGS# 5299, GSID# 5038)
