Astounding Superb Gem 1876 Twenty Cent
1876 20C MS67 NGC. Of the four readily collectible business-strike twenty cent issues, three of them--the 1875, the 1875-S, and the 1876--are roughly tied for availability at the Superb Gem level, with between five and seven examples known for each in the NGC Census Report (8/09). This example from the last year has absolutely smooth, fantastically lustrous fields and considerable frost on the well struck devices. Shell-pink toning elements visit otherwise silver-white surfaces. A coin of outstanding quality that would fit well as a high-end representative in a type set.
