1877 Twenty Cent Piece, PR63 Cameo
    Low-Mintage, Proof-Only Issue

1877 20C PR63 Cameo NGC. BF-1, R.3. Brilliant save for a faint sheen of pale-gold patina, this Select proof displays nicely mirrored fields that contrast with frost-white motifs to justify the Cameo designation. Scattered light lines and a few small marks account for the assigned grade. While a reasonable mintage of 510 proofs was made, many pieces were melted as unsold upon abolishment of the twenty cent denomination. Census: 12 in 63 Cameo (1 in 63+), 49 finer (5/17).(Registry values: N2998) (NGC ID# 27H4, PCGS# 85305)

    Weight: 5.00 grams

    Metal: 90% Silver, 10% Copper
