    Final-Year of Issue

    1878 20C PR64 PCGS. BF-1, R.3. All 1878 twenty cent pieces were struck from a single die pair, which shows a small die lump in the drapery folds to the right of the Y in LIBERTY. These are all proof coins, coming from a mintage of 600 pieces, and they are the last twenty cent coins struck in any format. This near-Gem displays sharp detail and reflective fields. Deep aquamarine toning encompasses the margins, leaving the centers with a lighter lilac hue.(Registry values: N2998) (NGC ID# 27H5, PCGS# 5306)
