Description
1864 2C Small Motto, FS-401, MS64 Red PCGS. The production figures for the Small Motto coins are unknown, but population statistics indicate the scarcity of this coin. The original red color of this piece is mellowed a bit in the fields, and a single noticeable blemish, above the E in CENTS, explains the lack of a Gem grade designation. An attractive example of this rare, key date in the two cent series. Population: 16 in 64 (1 in 64+) Red, 23 finer (7/16).Ex: Dallas Signature (Heritage, 11/2005), lot 399.
