1864 Small Motto Two Cent, FS-401
MS65 Red and Brown, 'Fatty' Holder
1864 2C Small Motto, FS-401, MS65 Red and Brown NGC. The
first-year 1864 is a high-mintage date, but a supermajority of
examples display a Large Motto. The introductory Small Motto
variety is scarce, particularly in better Mint State grades with
substantial Red remaining. One small fleck at the obverse center,
but otherwise outstanding. Housed in a Generation 4 fatty holder.
Census: 58 in 65 (1 in 65+ Red and Brown, 1 in 65★ ), 16
