Scarcer Small Motto Variant
1864 2C Small Motto, FS-401, MS65 Red and Brown PCGS. CAC.
Orange-gold fills protected areas of this boldly struck Gem, while
the high points and open fields are medium brown. The eye appeal is
exceptional despite a trio of tiny reverse spots and a solitary
tick near the right base of the large 2. The reverse displays a
network of peripheral cracks. PCGS Population: 63 in 65 (3 in 65+),
8 finer (12/25).Ex: ANA Signature (Heritage, 8/2014), lot 3192; Houston Signature (Heritage, 12/2014), lot 3188.
