1864 2C Small Motto MS65 Brown NGC. FS-401, formerly FS-000.5. The olive-brown surfaces of this Gem are satiny and pristine with mostly bold design definition. The surfaces lack vibrancy, preventing a higher grade. The 1864 Small Motto was issued at the beginning of this series, prior to the Large Motto coins, and it is the true first-year design type of the denomination.
