Gem 1864 Small Motto Two Cent
1864 2C Small Motto MS65 Red and Brown NGC. The two cent piece was introduced in 1864 with a mintage of nearly 20 million pieces, but the vast majority of those were the Large Motto subtype. The Small Motto is comparatively rare, and was struck only in 1864. This evenly struck and unblemished example is orange-gold and medium brown with the former color more prevalent on the reverse.(Registry values: N1793)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 22N8, PCGS# 3580, GSID# 2678)
