1865 2C Fancy 5 MS67★ Red and Brown NGC. Ex: Simpson. NGC has seen only eight examples of the 1865 two cent piece worthy of the MS67 grade, including two Red pieces, two Brown, and four Red and Brown. All are base-grade coins, save for the current piece, which is Star designated (1/25). A sharp strike characterizes the shield and wreath, while satiny luster lives pristine over each side. Mostly copper-gold color has tinges of lilac and blue in the margins. Census: 4 in 67 (1 in 67 ) Red and Brown, 0 finer (1/25).
