1867 Doubled Die Obverse Two Cent Piece, MS63 Brown
Rarely Seen in Mint Condition
1867 2C Doubled Die Obverse MS63 Brown PCGS Secure. FS-101.
The obverse shows profound doubling at the top of that side with no
evidence on the lower part around the date area. This indicates
pivoted hub doubling with the pivot point on the lower part of the
obverse. The Doubled Die Obverse is very scarce in mint condition.
This piece is mostly gray-brown with noticeable mint red
surrounding the devices. A bit softly struck. Population: 5 in 63
Brown, 3 finer (8/10).(Registry values: P5)Coin Index Numbers: (PCGS# 3594, GSID# 2689)
