Popular 1867 Two Cent Piece With Doubled Die Obverse, MS64 Red and Brown
1867 2C MS64 Red and Brown NGC. Doubled Die Obverse. FS-003. Richmond Collection. While not an especially rare Doubled Die, except in mint condition, because of the pronounced shift in the letters in the scroll interest is quite high in this coin. This is a well struck example that shows a speckled overlay of brown patina on each side, just enough to significantly subdue the original red luster.(#3592) (Registry values: N491)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 22NB, PCGS# 3592, Greysheet# 2687)
